Evolution (MBOs, evaluations, promotions)
The opportunity of a quick career progress is one of our strong points compared to the companies in the field. Your personal career development depends on the pace you set and your contributions, on your enhancement and value – these are the aspects we look for when we do different evaluations.
All Roland Berger consultants undergo assessments, either they are of an overall activity assessment (MbO evaluation) or of project specific evaluations (Project Assessment).
MbO (Management by Objectives)
The system of setting agreed targets for all colleagues is a centralized compensation and motivation instrument in the company (Management by Objectives, MbO). With this view, each consultant is subordinated to a certain mentor (Partner or Principal/PM) who is responsible for the further development and motivation of the respective peer. The sole purpose of this evaluation is to set measurable and achievable individual objectives that will help you form a proper methodical career path, but also foster the communication of ideas that will, in the end, improve the office’s overall performance. You should think about your personal plans and ideas in due time. In development goals the motto “everything is possible” is valid and we encourage it.
Project assessments
This evaluation at the end of each project is intended to give both Project Managers as well as team members an opportunity to receive feedback and a chance to learn new ways of improving their performance and reinforce the positive aspects related to teamwork and project objectives. Your evaluation is as valid as anybody's else because you will be asked to provide 360° feedback for all colleagues that you have been working with, regardless the hierarchical level.
