Business breakfast on Consumer Finance

On December 3rd, our Bucharest office together with EFMA and the Romanian Banking Institute organized the Business Breakfast "Consumer Finance in CEE – How to emerge stronger from the crisis". Banking and consumer finance executives discussed with our Partners about the current status of Consumer Finance in CEE, as well as its key challenges and future outlook.

Our event started with a presentation of the Roland Berger and EFMA study "Consumer Finance in CEE" and went on with a panel discussion consisting of 5 top executives in the industry. Roland Berger partners Codrut Pascu (from the Bucharest office) and Hendrik Bremer (from the Austrian office) were there to outline the results of the study and moderate the discussion afterwards.

Their idea to offer a panel discussion, to which everybody could contribute and provide fresh ideas on consumer finance and its prospective evolution, received much praise from the 30 selected top-level guests from banks, consumer finance institutions, and industry associations.

CEE consumer finance dialogue

Breakfast started early with the indispensable "coffee". From then on, it was a 2 hour dialogue on issues such as the current status of consumer finance in CEE, how the current economic context has affected it, as well as the key challenges for the short term development and longer-term view. Dialogue was the key ingredient in the event, as our five panelists entered an animated discussion, which set up the right frame of sharing ideas within the whole group of top professionals.
