Innovation – The way to the future for the Romanian manufacturing industry

Romania's exports are on the rise (again). A driving factor for the success as a production location are relative cost advantages.
The bad news is this competitive advantage is reaching its limits with labor cost increases already surpassing productivity gains, in the past.
The good news is it is an excellent starting point to move to the next level of competitiveness: own innovation.

Codrut Pascu, Managing Partner of the Romanian office, supported this view at the Romanian Manufacturers Summit, on September 28, 2010. His presentation explored the competitiveness of Romania's industry, while assessing the current status of innovation in the economy and in manufacturing companies, in comparison to international benchmarks. Moreover, certain key recommendations are laid out on how Romanian companies can move to become innovation leaders, in the medium term.
